The 50 KB sweet spot
50 KB is the most common photo cap across SSC, banking (IBPS), railway (RRB) and many state exam portals. It's generous enough that a properly cropped portrait still looks clean — unlike the punishing 20 KB limit some older forms use.
If your form says "between 20 KB and 50 KB", aim for 50: it's the same acceptance window with a noticeably sharper photo. This tool targets the top of the range on purpose.
How to compress a photo to 50 KB

20 KB vs 50 KB — which should I use?
Always use the largest size your form accepts. A 50 KB photo carries more than twice the detail of a 20 KB one. Only drop to 20 KB if the form explicitly rejects anything larger.
Check your form's instructions page for the exact wording. Many say "photograph should be between 20 KB and 50 KB" — in that case, 50 KB is your answer.
